Preparations for CRETE 2018 are nearly finished now.

Dinner in Nafplio -
was a grip into the brown!
The travelguide of MÜLLER and others write since many years, that the taverna Vasilis (also Vassilis) is a good one.
So it was through many years, till old father Vassilis disappears!
Now its terrible!
No Pastitsio, Baklava is unknown, Retsina could be colder, Ouzo in warm glasses, beer frozen, and so on.

Dont visit this taverna, there are many others and much more better.
Back in the hotel Anthi and CEO Konstandinos helped us with a Ouzo of best quality, otherwise this terrible meal would have lost us during the evening.

Visiting Hydra
Departure time 0845
Calm sea, a very nice boat trip to Hydra.
Such a nice port, great scenery, but a lot of donkeys (how everywhere ) in the center and there also very hot. Wet till to the undertrousers!
We let us run on in a nice tavern, then we left the
picturesque island, visited Spetses, too and came back to Tolo at 7pm.

Going to Monemvasia.
Breakfast to a helly time - 0700!
A 4 hours ride along the wonderful coast of the Argolic Gulf, beautiful beaches, bays mountains, bright sunshine, terrible street-surfaces! At 11 we reached Monemvasia. You must have sent that. No cars because of the very narrow lanes and a upper town, high above the red roofs of the lower town. But te come up is no bummerl, more climbing than walking and 37 degrees. But we had a great view and it was worth to loose 2 liters sweat.
Afterwards we had lunch in a Johnnygarden, then we rode home through Sparti and reached Tolo at 1800.
Piname, Dipsame - hungry and thirsty, had meal in our hotel and then slept the sleep of the equitables.

Sunday - we had a lazy day, because the weather was a little bit ☈ thunderstormy, therefore we watched the sky and the heaven and decided to visit Mykene in the late afternoon. The lions of the Lions Gate are sunshined after 4pm. When we reached Mykene, there were a lot of people, especially from Asia, so called SLOTTEDs, they noised through the scenery and stood  us photographers only in the way. So we visited the museum first, saw the golden mask of Agamemnon and others, then we marched to the Lions Gate, in the meantime the SLOTTEDs stumbled back to their coaches and we had the gate for us alone.
Dark clouds came up and after shooting a lot of photos we also disappeared to the Treasury of Atreus. Inside it had a very strange smell, so we left the Treasury quickly and then had a nice evening. No thunderstorm did come!

In all God's morning we visited Epidavrou, the theatre and the other archeological sites. Then we had a drink or more in Galatas with a bright view to Poros. 40 degrees! But no problems for us, only people who have butter on  their head should not go into the sun.

The uptrain brought us to our suites high above Tolo. Afterwards we enjoyed the dinner on the beach.

Then we wanted to ride to Nafplio but we had a problem with our car. We had to order a new one and got it - a special service for HERTZ Gold  Card owners:

Tag 5/2

In the late afternoon we reached Tolo, where we entered our final hotel, King Minos, a hotel in best position high above Tolo. We have 2 suites in the fifth floor with a great view to the bay of Tolo with the islands Romvi and Karonisi.
Anthi and Konstandinos reached us a glass of Ouzo immediately, they saw, that we need a medicine.
Then in the evening we had a great dinner in the taverna Akrogiali.
After some Amstels and Retsinas we were ready and went to bed at 11 pm.

Tag 5

In  all God's morning we left Pilos. Bernd has  drawn the Ass card, because he had to drive through Messenia and Kalamata, especially through the gorges and the serpentines of the Taygetos Mountains. So we came to Mistras with 30 minutes delay. Extremely hot! 40 degrees! But no problems for us. We climbed up to the church we Pantanass, took some special photos and and then I chose the shorter way to the exit, Bernd and Co the longer.

In Pilos, Hotel Keralis City, they could not find our reservation, but they had two rooms with a nice few across the port basin. We soon  took the dinner in a nearby tavern and then we threw us into the beds - - the next day should become an exhausting one.

Olympia - 41 degrees. Another heat 🔥  battle! But Bernd started the Olympic 192m run and survived!
After a visit time of more than 2 hours we shook the dust from our feet and drove to a dream beach near Pilos. It's nearly circleround with only narrow connection with the open sea. To show this in a photo you must use a fisheye lense otherwise you can show only a part of this great beach.

After the heat battle in Delphi we had a nice dinner in the small tavern near our hotel Trocadero. I know that from former visits and also the owner. I brought him some photos and could speak to him normally, because he was not in oil as usually.
Early in the morning we crept out of the feathers, terrible breakfast, no tea! Then we drove to Antirio and southbound we crossed the Korinthian Gulf, admired the great bridge and  went to Olympia

Tag 3

We started at 0830 to Delphi. Bright sun laughed from the sky, a better light for taking pictures. 4 hours to go. We crossed the Thessalic plain, reached Lamia at 11 and Delphi at 1215. Breeding heat, 36 degrees! We climbed up to the stadium, passed the temple of Apollo, saw some Pythias, and admired the theatre, also Kiefl Ottos "Pigtrough of Delphi". He'd discovered this trough 2012 and now hit is an important attraction!
The heat 🔥 set us very to, so we left Apollo after 2 hours, visited the Tholos and last but not least the Kastalic Fountain. Here we refreshed us, because we had the snout 🐽 full and our circleruns were under the dog.
We recovered rapidly and then we drove to Itea, where we'll spend the night.

Tag 2

We awoke and held the breath on, 30 degrees but no sun. First we visited Leonidas, then the bay of Volos. Terrible light, deep hanging clouds!
No parking place! We shaked the dust from our feet and drove to Kalambaka.

At one pm we reached Kalambaka, very disappointed, because the light was terrible, we waited till the late afternoon, then we drove up to the monasteries. We visited the BIG MONASTERY, Varlaam and Rousanou. We climbed up about 1500 steps! And also down! 

In the meantime the light was a little bit better, so I shot a lot of pictures.

We returned to Kalambaka at 7pm, very hungry and dehydrated. 

Tag 1

Pünktlicher Flug, Auto übernommen, fahren nordwärts bis Kamena Vourla.
A very hot day, 42 degrees!
We reached Kamena at 5 pm, and our tongues were very furry, therefore we enjoyed 5 beers and a bottle of wine. 4 Ouzo. No, 6 Ouzo!
